San Francisco Sightseeing
If you’re looking for a unique way to see all of the wonderful sights of San Francisco, then why not try taking a tour of this incredible city?
Your first stop is the Golden Gate Bridge where one can take a tour of the once-longest suspension bridge given by the Golden Gate National Park Conservancy. The bridge offers guided tours daily, or you can view and walk the length of the bridge on your own.
A trip to San Francisco just isn’t complete without visiting Alcatraz Island, the infamous U.S. military prison and federal penitentiary where Al Capone was once incarcerated. A ferry is taken to the island where the prison is, and there is both a day tour, which is more self-guided, and an evening tour, which offers a partially-guided experience.
Next we suggest stopping by Fisherman’s Wharf, the historical neighborhood and center of San Francisco’s fishing fleet. Here, you can experience excellent seafood restaurants, boating, and a large collection of historic ships. Next on the tour is the Golden Gate Park, the large urban park bordering on the Pacific beach. This park offers a myriad of attractions including an aquarium, gardens, playgrounds, museums, dining, flora and fauna, and more.
If you’re in the mood for a little culture, then continue on to the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art where a critically acclaimed collection of art, books, periodicals, and other creative works can be viewed. At the museum you can view internationally recognized paintings, sculptures, photographs, architecture, and media art.
And don’t forget to stop by Union Square, a public area and shopping district once used to rally support for the Union Army during the Civil War. The square offers high-end restaurants, bars, and shopping opportunities.
Last, but certainly not least, is Chinatown, the largest and oldest Chinese community outside of Asia. The neighborhood contains many displays of Chinese culture, including houses of worship, temples, social clubs, and architectural displays.
These are just a few example of places to see and things to do while you’re in San Francisco. Jump on a cable car, hail a taxi, or hire a limousine to take you to all of the hot spots marked on your itinerary – you won’t be disappointed!
